olunteers are needed to wash and fold laundry,
prepare surgical instruments for autoclaving, help clean
cages or carriers, and best of all, sometimes cuddle and
comfort animals after surgery. Just being around so many
dogs and cats is a joy, especially knowing we are
preventing them from having litter after litter of
babies that may not be cared for!
t is
recommended that you be able to work a full shift (four
hours) but you can choose your day! Call the clinic for
more information.
Volunteers
are always needed and appreciated
for various
fund-raising events that are held.
For example:
Paws and Puddles Bike Ride--everything
from Setting up, putting out signs, Registration,
Driving after the Riders, Rest Stops, baking/cooking
and serving lunch to participants, and Rest
Stops, to taking down everything afterwards;
Galveston County Fair and Rodeo--
giving out AAGC Clinic brochures and friend-making;
Bake Sale --supplying Baked Goodies
and helping sell them;
Galveston County Animal Summit and Expo--Setting
up, giving out information, and taking down
afterwards;
Garage Sale--Setting up and taking
down, and helping customers with choices;
Trot for Spot --Setting up for Dog
Walk, heading up various fun events, and taking down
afterwards;
And Other projects and ideas as they surface from
Volunteers and others.
The AAGC Volunteers meet 6pm. on the 4th Thursday of
each month
at the The Nessler Center,
5th Ave. @ 21st. Street, Texas City
